I am very fond of this tree and have photographed him over many years, tracking the changes that he had to adapt to as the convent where he lives was sold to a local preserve who turned this area back from manicured lawn to natural Midwest woodland. His strength of character remained throughout…his personality adapted.
He lives at the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St Charles, Illinois.
To the right is a photograph of him as he appears now. You can read his story and track his changes HERE.
