Laughing Rocks

These laughing rocks hang out together in the Garden of the Gods, Shawnee National Forest, Illinois. They face Camel Rock, and are part of a large community of giant size rock beings. It’s easy to see why the site was sacred to past cultures.

Camel Rock

A Royal Court needs Jesters to lighten things up. The Garden of the Gods in Southern Illinois is no different. These jokesters face the well-known Camel Rock (right) and its small canyon chock full of stone HooDoos.

These jesters provide levity to balance the serious energies of the senior court members. Each has his own well developed personality.
