Lady of the Rocks

The Lady of the Rocks watches over her domain of HooDoos, at Masai Point, Chiricahua National Monument, Arizona.

More Information

The Ladies oversee the comings and goings of the nature beings in their domain – the small animals, the trees and the rocks. You can see photographs of other ladies in the Ladies of the Realm area of this website.

This Lady lives at Masai Point, Chiricahua National Monument, Arizona and overlooks a valley filled with thousands of other HooDoos. Western-traveling pioneers gave that name to these structures as they seemed to be living spirits who, according to Native American legend, come alive at night and move about; this seemed to pioneers to be a type of VooDoo, as practiced in New Orleans.
