More Information

Deer Skull – Brandywine Valley

A deer skull, found in the woods of the Kuerner Farm, Chadds Ford, PA and hung in their barn.

The Kuerner Farm was the subject of thousands of paintings and drawings by Andrew Wyeth, the renown artist prominent in the establishment of the Brandywine School of art.

Many of Wyeth’s paintings were of the Kuerner barn and its textured interior. This scene is in the typical Brandywine School colors – earth tones of that area, muted.

Below is the Kuerner Farm complex. It is part of the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum, which works to maintain the beauty and historical lands of the area.
