Mountain Men

Mountain Men

This tree crafted two bearded mountain men in his trunk.

This evergreen tree likes the solitary life – beautiful woods, and life by a small stream that flows with ever-moving energy across its roots. The stream is in its seasonally expanded size, from Spring floods.

The images have been shaped by the tree being himself, as he explores on his personal canvas – his trunk – what he experiences around him. It looks like two mountain men camped in the area at some point and the tree being liked their energy and comradeship. So he embodied that energy inside himself!

The tree did a good job defining the personalities of each, with their bushy beards and varied hats.

This is one of the trees my son Brian Toy and his partner Betsy Schurman have photographed on their RV journey around the U.S.A.  This tree lives in Silver Creek, Washington.
